Frankfurt, 30 April 2026As part of its ongoing commitment to fostering young talent and shaping the future of the global travel industry, Lufthansa City Center International has launched the global LCC GEN.Z CLUB. This new international initiative is designed to give young LCC professionals a voice in shaping the future of the travel industry. This club spans 16 ambassadors from 14 countries.

Bringing together 16 participants aged 20 to 30 from 14 countries, the programme officially kicked off on 29 April 2026. It provides a platform for collaboration, idea exchange, and strategic input on key topics such as digital transformation, AI, sustainability, and evolving customer expectations.

The LCC GEN.Z CLUB builds on the success of the Young Talents Programme, first introduced at the LCC General Assembly in Malta in 2025. Strong engagement and positive feedback from participants underscored the value of structured development opportunities for young professionals within the network.

This initiative has now evolved into a permanent international programme.  With the GEN.Z CLUB, Lufthansa City Center reinforces its commitment to innovation, global collaboration, and investing in the next generation of industry leaders. A complementary programme has also been launched in Germany, tailored specifically to the domestic market and managed by the German LCC headquarters, Lufthansa City Center Reisebüropartner GmbH (LCR)

“Our global network is home to many young professionals from all over the world. As Generation Z represents the future of our network, we want to support them, learn from their ideas, and actively listen to their voices,” says Heiko Brix, Managing Director of Lufthansa City Center International.

Investing in the Future of the Network

The programme’s launch highlighted the strong mindset of its participants, marked by openness, curiosity, and a willingness to challenge established thinking. Soumyajit Mondal, Indo Asia Tours Lufthansa City Center from India, on eof the Gen.Z ambassadors shared: “This is a chance to be part of something more unique, collaborative, and future-focused.  I am ready to build the future, and more importantly some great connections with all the other ambassadors."

One key takeaway from the kick-off: this generation is ready to take responsibility and actively shape the future of the industry.

The GEN.Z CLUB continues to serve as a development platform for its ambassadors, but also as a strategic advisory voice for the entire global LCC network. The programme will run through 2027 and is structured in three distinct phases: Phase 1, Connect & Inspire, fosters exchange and creates a dynamic foundation for innovation. Phase 2 offers workshops and live sessions to further develop skills and apply them to real-world industry cases. Phase 3, Lead and Share, empowers participants to advocate for key Gen Z topics and actively promote a new mindset across the global network.

The initiative aligns closely with Lufthansa City Center’s broader commitment to future readiness, emphasized during its 35th anniversary year—focusing on continuous evolution, strong partnerships, tech-driven mindset and sustained investment in the next generation.

The 14 GEN.Z ambassadors originate from these LCC countries to date: Belarus, Belgium, Brazil, Cyprus, Germany, India, Mexico, Nigeria, North Macedonia, Norway, Philippines, Serbia, South Africa and United Kingdom.
