Frankfurt, 13 May 2026 – As part of its ongoing commitment to advancing innovation and operational excellence across its global network, Lufthansa City Center International (LCCI) has entered a strategic partnership with Acai Travel, a specialized provider of AI-based automation solutions for the travel operations sector.
The collaboration aims to support international Lufthansa City Center agencies in optimizing operational efficiency and enhancing service quality through the integration of intelligent automation technologies. Acai Travel is a B2B AI platform built around an autonomous AI Travel Agent — operating directly within GDS and CX environments, and capable of acting with or without a human in the loop. Agencies can deploy Acai in copilot mode, where the AI handles the heavy lifting while a travel expert reviews and confirms, or in full autopilot, where the AI agent resolves tasks end-to-end. This includes service tasks including availability searches, itinerary recommendations, re-bookings, cancellations, schedule changes, and disruption handling—areas that continue to place significant pressure on agency resources.
By implementing Acai’s technology, international LCC agencies will be able to significantly reduce handling times, minimize operational errors, and relieve teams from repetitive service tasks. Additionally, they can reduce training time or even deploy non-GDS trained travel consultants. This enables LCC travel experts to focus more on high-value customer interactions and expert consulting services and eliminate standard routine tasks.
The technology integrates natively with GDS and non-GDS content, as well as leading CX platforms, enabling a smooth adoption process across the diverse global LCC network.
With this agreement, Acai Travel becomes a preferred technology partner within the international technology portfolio of Lufthansa City Center International.
“This partnership reflects our strategic ambition to actively integrate innovative, practical solutions that deliver measurable value to our LCC members,” says Heiko Brix, Managing Director of Lufthansa City Center International. “Acai Travel stood out for its ability to simplify complex workflows, increase efficiency, and help our agencies respond faster and more effectively to customer needs in today’s highly dynamic travel environment,” continues Heiko Brix.
“We see our role as a franchisor as being a true sparring partner for our agencies on key technological and operational topics,” adds Siiri Palisaar, Senior Director Sales Steering at LCCI and continues: “By continuously expanding our ecosystem of trusted, carefully vetted partners, we ensure our agencies have access to best-in-class tools that address real-world challenges in an increasingly complex travel environment.”
LCCI’s focus remains on scalable, practical solutions that enhance efficiency, improve service delivery, and future-proof LCC agency operations across the global network.
“Lufthansa City Center International represents exactly the kind of global agency network where Acai's automation delivers the most impact — hundreds of experienced travel professionals handling complex itineraries across 110 countries, where every minute saved on a rebooking or disruption is a minute given back to the customer. We're proud to be a preferred technology partner within the LCCI ecosystem, and we look forward to meeting agencies directly at the LCC Summit in Vilnius this June.” — Ron Glickman, Founding Head of Sales & Marketing, Acai Travel.
As part of the collaboration, ACAI Travel will also participate as a technology partner and sponsor at the LCC Summit 2026 in Vilnius this June, where it will showcase its solutions and engage directly with 150 LCC agencies from around the world.
