Frankfurt, 8 September 2026 – Ten out of 16 members of the global Lufthansa City Center (LCC) GEN.Z CLUB, representing ten countries, met in person for the first time at the Lufthansa Aviation Center in Frankfurt on 3 September. The meeting defined four key priorities and an action plan for the initiative through the end of 2027.

The global GEN.Z CLUB provides a platform for the next generation of travel professionals to contribute their perspectives and ideas to the future development of Lufthansa City Center. Launched in April 2026, the 16 members from 14 countries had previously collaborated virtually. The first in-person workshop focused on the needs of Generation Z customers and the changing role of travel consultants.

Zan Mubi, Sales Executive at Blue Horizons Travel & Tours Lufthansa City Center in the Philippines and GEN.Z CLUB Lead, comments: "Frankfurt was the first time the GEN.Z CLUB sat together in one room, and it made the purpose of the initiative much clearer. We looked honestly at where the gaps are: between generations, between the way people buy travel today and the way we sell it, and between the ideas young colleagues have and the opportunities they have to bring those ideas forward. That's the work ahead of us."

Moderated by Lufthansa City Center International (LCCI), the workshop used a gap analysis to identify four priorities for the programme:

  1. Professional development
Strengthening professional skills and creating opportunities for young LCC professionals to expand their knowledge and learn from international peers.
  2. AI and digital transformation
Building practical knowledge and confidence in the use of AI and digital technologies in the travel industry.
  3. The human factor
Strengthening human capabilities such as empathy, creativity, personal relationships and professional expertise.
  4. Personal growth and international exchange
Broadening perspectives and supporting personal development through international collaboration.

The four pillars will guide the initiative through 2027, translating its priorities into concrete projects across the global LCC network.

Kristina Siebert, Team Lead Online Solutions at LCC Reisebüro AG in Germany and GEN.Z CLUB Lead, comments: "We identified the topics that matter most to our generation. Now, we want to turn these perspectives into ideas, projects, and actions that create new opportunities for Lufthansa City Center and its people."

The programme also included a behind-the-scenes visit to the Lufthansa Training Center, followed by participation in the LCC Employee Forum 2026 in Seeheim-Jugenheim. The ambassadors opened the conference and presented the key outcomes of their workshop, giving the next generation an active voice within the global LCC network.

"The future of our industry will be shaped by the people entering it today. This meeting was an important milestone because it gave us the opportunity to listen, learn, and work together with some of the brightest young talents in our global network. The topics and ideas developed in Frankfurt will help define the GEN.Z CLUB's agenda through the end of 2027 and contribute valuable perspectives to the future development of Lufthansa City Center." states Heiko Brix, Managing Director Lufthansa City Center International GmbH.

The LCC GEN.Z CLUB comprises 16 participants aged 20 to 30 from 14 countries: Belarus, Belgium, Brazil, Cyprus, Germany, India, Mexico, Nigeria, North Macedonia, Norway, the Philippines, Serbia, South Africa, and the United Kingdom. The initiative was launched in April 2026 and closely aligns with Lufthansa City Center's broader commitment to future readiness, a key focus during its 35th anniversary year.

The German Lufthansa City Center Headquarters (LCR) also runs NEXTGEN, a similar initiative for the German market with 30 LCC members.
