“There are few sights more beautiful than Pretoria’s Jacaranda trees in full bloom and showering the streets with their purple petals – so a perfect time to visit the Jacaranda City would be September/October.
Also I definitely recommend visiting the Rietvlei Nature Reserve! It is said to be the largest game reserve within city borders in the world – where you can view rhino, buffalo, cheetah, antelope and more on the 40km tar and dirt roads.
The Freedom Park opened its doors in December 2007. It is a space where South Africans and our visitors can reflect on the past, and is an inspiration for the future. It is regarded as one of the most ambitious heritage projects the government has invested in - an attempt to encapsulate the heart and soul of South Africa in a physical space.
