The “Wieliczka” mine is a real labyrinth of underground galleries, built over the course of more than seven centuries, where many dangers lurked in the dark, waiting for the miners. These conditions gave rise to the tradition of erecting underground crosses and chapels devoted to saints, guardians and patrons of the mining profession.
Over the past five centuries, more than 40 sacral objects have been built in the mine. The chapels presented in the application, devoted to St Anthony and St Kinga have gained particular importance and significance.
