Lufthansa City Center presents the results of its global customer survey on changing travel behaviour.

The Lufthansa City Center (LCC) Group has conducted a consumer survey among all international LCC customers to analyse the travel behaviour and the changing needs of travellers in times of COVID-19. In total, 2,288 corporate and leisure customers took part in the survey - a novelty in this form. The results show that travel and face-to-face meetings will not be replaced by virtual meetings in the future. Despite COVID-19, the desire to travel continues to be great and the demand will already increase in the next three to six months.

LCC General Assembly in Montenegro lays the foundation for the digital future - the more complex the world becomes, the more we need people

"We are evolving from a system to a global platform" was the leading concept of the LCC General Assembly in Montenegro from 7 to 10 November 2019. 415 participants from 70 countries travelled to Budva to be part of this future-oriented exchange. Through knowledge transfer, LCC wants to ensure that all partners are still well positioned tomor-row. The basic belief is that the more complex and technical the world becomes, the more we need people.

As a global travel agency network, LCC Group connects the expertise of 5.300 employees worldwide. The management puts the strength of the community in a nutshell with the formula "Touch & Tech"; it is the connection of personal service (Touch) with digital cus-tomer interfaces (Tech) that already makes LCC successful. Markus Orth explains: "We want to expand on this advantage in the corporate and leisure sectors, because I am firmly convinced that we will also play a significant role in the market as a TMC and travel agen-cy community in the increasingly digitized world. The key point is the technology that makes customer approach more individual and so it will be in the future." The recently an-nounced partnership with Voya is just the beginning. The entire network of successful en-trepreneurs is ready to invest in technology. This was clearly shown at the General Assem-bly, Orth says.

Martina Grönegres to Become Chief Execu-tive Officer of Lufthansa City Center International

Martina Grönegres introduced herself to the LCC partners at the annual international LCC plenum of the franchise group in Montenegro, where the platform strategy is being pre-sented. “Currently, we are experiencing one of the most exciting periods in travel business: sales processes take place to a large extent on online platforms. At LCC we have the nec-essary prerequisites for customer-focused retail through our technology expertise and in-ternational presence. The business potential is great and I look forward to being part of this exciting journey”, Grönegres commented on her upcoming new role.

Distribution Standard NDC: Change creates new opportunities

Vienna/Frankfurt, Germany, 21st March 2019. – Three letters are set to transform the long established way in which the travel industry sell their products: NDC. The abbre-viation stands for New Distribution Capability and thus represents a new IATA (Inter-national Air Transport Association) backed data protocol standard, which primarily many airlines will be focusing on in the future to sell their products. The effect for the travel industry, especially for travel agencies, TMCs and corporate customers was discussed with key players of the industry at a “Distribution Summit” organised by Lufthansa City Center International (LCCI) in Vienna. The result: This is the future and should be embraced as the new method of travel retailing. The data standard offers a wide variety of opportunities for a more flexible and customer focused approach. Up to now, the challenge for travel sellers has been to find the one booking platform cap-able of presenting this new content and uniting the wide range of offers. LCCI emb-races this change and is striking forward to offer their own distribution platform - Lucy.
